BOOKING

Payment must be paid in full at point of booking in order to confirm your appointment date and time. Please accurately complete all your personal information requested by email before attending your appointment as this will allow more time on the day.

While we do appreciate that at short notice personal schedules can change and cancellations may be necessary, we ask that you give us as much notice as possible. Cancellation with more than 24 hours notice will not incur any charges and may be rescheduled. Cancellations with less than 24 hours notice will be subject to a £40 fee being removed from your package cost before refund.

We kindly ask you to arrive 10 mins before your appointment time. Please be on time as late starts not within our control will likely mean a shorter appointment for you so as not to impact on the patient after you.

Actual scanning times within you appointment are outlined within each package.

GENDER DETERMINATION

Our sonographers are highly trained and have a lot of experience of determining babies’ gender, we always aim to provide as accurate determination as possible. However, as with any scan, 100% accuracy cannot be guaranteed. The Scan Room accept no liability in the event of incorrect gender identification.

If you do not wish to know the gender of your baby, we will do our very best not to disclose this during the scan.

RESCANS

We always try our very best to provide you with the best quality 2D, 3D and 4D images. However, due to the nature of ultrasound there are several factors which can affect the image quality such as:

-Position of placenta
-Position of baby-particularly their face
-Above average BMI/increased adipose tissue
-Amount of amniotic fluid surrounding baby
-Later than 32 weeks gestation

We cannot be held responsible and cannot offer refunds for poor quality images which are beyond our control. We will always do our best to obtain great images for you. This includes where we feel the quality of images could be improved, re-scheduling your appointment for a later time or date at no charge. Showing you a great image is what we love to do, however our professional opinion on if this is possible is final.

ABNORMALITIES

The Scan Room scans are intended for extra bonding and entertainment and are not intended to replace your NHS scans. We strongly advise that you attend your routine NHS booking and anomaly scans and any other scans that are recommended by your healthcare provider.

We provide souvenir scans only. We cannot be held responsible for failure to diagnose or misdiagnosis of any abnormalities. The purpose of your scan with us is non-diagnostic. We will not routinely look for abnormalities, but we will try to reassure you if we can, however, during the course of your scan we may find some variation from normal. We will always inform you if this is the case and give you a written report to take away and give to your Dr or midwife.

A well-being check of baby will be performed during your scan (visualise heartbeat and movements ). The nature of these checks will depend on your gestation and will be explained to you during your scan.

VIDEO CLIP AND IMAGE USE

All images provided by us are souvenir images, they are not diagnostic images. Video clips and DVD recordings are for personal entertainment purposes only.

You have permission to use these souvenir images and recordings providing they are for entertainment and home use only and not for medical reference. We will not retain any record of these souvenir images.

Please do not use your phone to record during the scan-we encourage you to enjoy this amazing experience in the moment. However, if you would like to make a recording for a special reason please ask and we will try to accommodate at a suitable time during the scan.
